I think I'm going to make a new journal sometime within the next couple of weeks, probably when I go back to school. New year, new start. I'm going to make sophomore year of college great.

Olivia sat on the couch with her arms wrapped around her knees. She’d flipped through every channel on the television. When she’d finally settled on something, she paid no attention to what was playing. She rested her head on her arms as the tears soaked her pajamas. She was confused. Her mind, her body, her heart- they were all confused.

She fell back onto the couch, causing the tears to slide onto her ears. She let them run.

There was a knock at the door.

“Liv?” Cameron. Olivia didn’t move.

Another knock. “Liv, please. I know you’re in there.”

She couldn’t hide forever. She rose to her feet and walked to the door. She unlocked and opened it, silently inviting him in.

“Come here.” Cameron opened his arms and she let herself fall into him. She sobbed harder. “Oh, sweetheart. Want to talk?”

She tried to say something, but a pathetic sound escaped. Instead, she shook her head and cried on his shoulder.

Why was she doing this? The man she was hugging was the man she was crying for. The man she’d loved since day one, though she’d never before admitted it.

She pulled away to ask him to leave. But when she saw his shining brown eyes, she couldn’t. She saw the pain in him. He needed her.

She needed him.

They needed each other.

That’s why he came. His sixth sense told her that she was hurting. He’d felt it was his fault.

Olivia put her hand on the back of his neck and pulled him into her.

She knew it was wrong. He was technically still married, still probably in love. Plus tomorrow she’d be full of regret.

But as the feeling of their kiss settled in, all the reasons were forgotten.
